It always surprises me where I find my next image. Images can come from just about anything and anywhere; if you just slow down and use a critical eye. That is one of the things I love about photography. Sometimes I purposely go out to a specific area with a specific image in mind, or I may just go out and see what I find. And yes, sometimes a potential image is presented to me. Case in point, as a school teacher, my wife is constantly purchasing items for her classroom or for a student activity. At the end of last year's school year, she purchased a plastic beach pail and shovel for each of her students as part of an end of the year activity. Having purchased the pails on a weekend, they were brought inside house until the following Monday. Sitting on our kichen counter, the big bold colors just begged for a photo shoot. Consequently, I placed the pails on a table in our outdoor covered patio, and set my camera with a 105mm macro lens on my tripod and began shooting. This is one of my favorite images. I cropped the original image slighting and processed it using Nik's Viveza.
