What I love about abandoned homes, buildings or other structures, is that you never know what photo opportunities they have to offer. I'll shoot wide angle to macro or closeup, and everything in between. Although a house that I checked out recently didn't have much to offer in the way of wide angle images (e.g., interesting doorways, windows, staircases), my eye caught this rusted door knob which appeared ready to drop to the ground. I set up my camera on my tripod, used a 105mm macro lens and shot it from several differnt angles. I liked this image the best. I used Nik Viveza to tweek the brightness and contrast and then the Detail Extractor filter in Nik Color Efex Pro to bring out some more texture. The early morning light provided the soft diffuse lighting.
