Must Have Cheap Macro Accessories: Part 2.

The other item that I never leave the house with is my homemade version of the Plamp®. The Plamp is an articulated arm with clamps at either end to assist in stabilizing wind-blown subjects, positioning or re-orienting your subject, or to hold a reflector or diffuser just to mention a few of its uses. As we magnify our subjects you soon discover that it takes very little wind to move your subject. Since I almost always maximize my depth of field by using a small aperture (e.g., f/32), shutter speed is relatively slow, hence, I need my subject to be rock solid in order to produce the sharpest image possible. I also find myself using my clamp for many different uses when conducting photography inside my home.
