If I had a dollar for every day that I've driven past this section of abandoned fence, I could retire and not have to worry about having been furloughed. Crazy things going on in D.C. these days. I was painting a house all last week just to make some money. With a little luck I'll be back in the office by October 17th or shortly thereafter.
It amazes me how there are images all around you if you just take the time and observe. This abandoned section of fence is literally a half mile from my house along a dirt road that I pass everytime I go on errands. The lion statuette is what really caught my eye. Using my 12-24mm lens, I was able to isolate the fence with the trees in the background and grass in the foreground. I cropped the image from the bottom and lightened the statuette sightly in order to put more emphasis on the lion. Although I processed the image straight out of the camera as both color, and black and white, it just wasn't doing much for me until I used the Glamour Glow filter in Nik's Color Efex Pro 4 which produced a nice soft look.
